Besides putting on Winter Homecoming at the high school on Friday night, I managed to take down all the Christmas decorations and finished card numbers 9, 10 and 11 in my 31 cards in 31 days goal. I completed two cards before 8am this morning. That's six cards in the last two days and I do believe that more than I have made in the last six months! Jump back!<div><br /></div><div>I am still using the Cottage Walls paper pack from Stampin Up. I love the colors in that pack. I used the Stampin Up "Best Blossoms" stamp set on one card. I had literally packed that set in a box to sell and as I was flipping through my stamp image book, I had an epiphany. I think I will hang on it to it a little longer. I also used the Martha Stewart Button punch for that one. The other card, I used one of my Stampin Up hostess sets from last years catalog called "A Little Somethin Somethin". I had never used it before and I have had it almost a year. Story of my life. :-) </div><div><br /></div><div>I have come to the conclusion that it is all about time management. 30 minutes really isn't that much out of my day to exercise. Another hour isn't too much to work on papercraft projects. Considering how much time I used to waste in a day playing FARKLE and BEJEWELED on Facebook. Believe me, folks, I don't miss it! I'm accomplishing something and feeling better about myself already. Try it something new, you'll love it! <div><br /></div><div><br /></div></div>Unknownnoreply@blogger.com0tag:blogger.com,1999:blog-6536142335980507243.post-36804603177866391522010-01-04T13:01:00.003-06:002010-01-04T13:20:42.672-06:00My Julie Powell Inspiration<a onblur="try {parent.deselectBloggerImageGracefully();} catch(e) {}" href="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEhLqM7yOOeFVUb5Kwgc2uY0vl4O7JEkeWUAG3oRL_KcRJqc63ybDZxYQTK1QnepxC8Pop9Ddbg-JSJdxxclWlslQUaIqMhUkZcoLNBKQdX22FB8YPeRYJdmiBI9Z9asLVmn4Uo1DnZp8zxq/s1600-h/IMG_3407.jpg"><img style="cursor:pointer; cursor:hand;width: 320px; height: 214px;" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEhLqM7yOOeFVUb5Kwgc2uY0vl4O7JEkeWUAG3oRL_KcRJqc63ybDZxYQTK1QnepxC8Pop9Ddbg-JSJdxxclWlslQUaIqMhUkZcoLNBKQdX22FB8YPeRYJdmiBI9Z9asLVmn4Uo1DnZp8zxq/s320/IMG_3407.jpg" border="0" alt="" id="BLOGGER_PHOTO_ID_5422966205855211458" /></a><a onblur="try {parent.deselectBloggerImageGracefully();} catch(e) {}" href="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEiWHkyxTkaBmElGSrbZ_FNuXmqmm-nJ1Ya1mv0mS6XmTBPYDG4d4lSXDY1Gd6ArsYisDEzfkUH-1Rd6WONEIZBcVBD3qf90H4KJ50fHJ7G7hKITKKhf2nydHxVjQkLdAEjuTc0T0NFKiQL6/s1600-h/IMG_3406.jpg"><img style="cursor:pointer; cursor:hand;width: 320px; height: 214px;" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEiWHkyxTkaBmElGSrbZ_FNuXmqmm-nJ1Ya1mv0mS6XmTBPYDG4d4lSXDY1Gd6ArsYisDEzfkUH-1Rd6WONEIZBcVBD3qf90H4KJ50fHJ7G7hKITKKhf2nydHxVjQkLdAEjuTc0T0NFKiQL6/s320/IMG_3406.jpg" border="0" alt="" id="BLOGGER_PHOTO_ID_5422966199225450226" /></a><br /><a onblur="try {parent.deselectBloggerImageGracefully();} catch(e) {}" href="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEgq1bh7fsne0_qRTNySoveqy-Ay0f33mc-yVSeWPHNI93zRi1sDJAUH7yOYFrOLZNG-wfQ5Et8IAdfZ_i3OB1MoRcexSr5qlrHjyR42cs2S3CNHLbdus2uqg03wZW6AQvrRBowtbEJW1oDr/s1600-h/IMG_3405.jpg"><img style="cursor:pointer; cursor:hand;width: 320px; height: 214px;" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEgq1bh7fsne0_qRTNySoveqy-Ay0f33mc-yVSeWPHNI93zRi1sDJAUH7yOYFrOLZNG-wfQ5Et8IAdfZ_i3OB1MoRcexSr5qlrHjyR42cs2S3CNHLbdus2uqg03wZW6AQvrRBowtbEJW1oDr/s320/IMG_3405.jpg" border="0" alt="" id="BLOGGER_PHOTO_ID_5422966195154391346" /></a><img style="cursor:pointer; cursor:hand;width: 320px; height: 214px;" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEj3-zO_dNRshCMULkts7Dump0qAkTC_wtA1mYjUm8LyEdba_Je7iqYN7761lnBGeSmqUP95NFpm2JzEJugHmz1rzyvXfMsLZScxRyGvBFgAhWV-EQfbb1AySxdV41jr4vhZ8hjk9k4ccDpT/s320/IMG_3403.jpg" border="0" alt="" id="BLOGGER_PHOTO_ID_5422966189093109026" /><br /><br />Having watched "Julie & Julia" over the New Year's weekend, I was inspired by the character, Julie Powell. If you have not seen it, Julie pledges to cook 564 recipes from the Julia Child's cookbok, Mastering the Art of French Cuisine, in 365 days. She blogged every day about the recipes she made. It is a true story and a cute movie. <div><br /></div><div>As you may have not noticed, I have NOT blogged for some time and I have no good excuse for it. I am going to try a new year of blogging with new projects so I can hopefully keep my creative mojo ticking. </div><div><br /></div><div>I wanted to do a Julie Powell goal and make one card for each of the 365 days this year. Start small and work my way up.</div><div><br /></div><div>Today is January the 4th so I finished four cards. It is usually always a bottle of water and a candy bar or snack. Just a nice little "Welcome to our school" gift. I enjoy coming up with different ways to present the gifts. Here's the one I came up with for tonight's game. The visiting team's school colors are red and white.<div style="text-align: center;"><a onblur="try {parent.deselectBloggerImageGracefully();} catch(e) {}" href="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEiza6tZUVZ7pOvXr0v7Y-gPj8e2T2UhG6HrWxhsJy5vyPksEQaHxX01pfwqMZ9woyJWTKdTl8LB5Lkzwgv0oq4UFJBhAfPiUJqgu5MQuZwqKHP4d4KY20D_F0TFLMx8M4chv2C8_0Q8Seng/s1600-h/Hesston+Cheerleader+Gifts.jpg"><img src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEiza6tZUVZ7pOvXr0v7Y-gPj8e2T2UhG6HrWxhsJy5vyPksEQaHxX01pfwqMZ9woyJWTKdTl8LB5Lkzwgv0oq4UFJBhAfPiUJqgu5MQuZwqKHP4d4KY20D_F0TFLMx8M4chv2C8_0Q8Seng/s320/Hesston+Cheerleader+Gifts.jpg" border="0" alt="" id="BLOGGER_PHOTO_ID_5380261116972944626" style="cursor: pointer; width: 222px; height: 320px; " /></a><br /></div><div style="text-align: center;"><br /></div><div> I used the "It's a Cheer Thing" stamp set from Stampin Up and colored using Copic markers. I can't believe that summer is already over but I am ready to get back into a routine again and to get back to organized sports! I love Friday night football so I am excited it will be here in a few short weeks. My youngest daughter is now in middle school so I am officially out of the elementary school system. No more class parties or Valentine's. Sniff, Sniff. Makes me kind of sad. <div><br /></div><div>In honor of back to school, I made little paper backpacks for each one of my cheerleaders as little gift from the coaches (Coach Nave and I). I got the pattern from <a href="http://www.splitcoaststampers.com/?">Splitcoast Stampers</a> website<a href="http://www.splitcoaststampers.com/resources/tutorials/backpackbox/"> here.</a> The pocket on the front is really too small for anything so we folded up a little message with this quote:</div><div><span class="Apple-tab-span" style="white-space:pre"> </span><span class="Apple-style-span" style="font-weight: bold;">"Always be a first rate version of yourself rather than a second rate version of someone else."</span><br /></div><div>The girls loved them and I, of course, enjoyed making them. </div><div><br /></div><div style="text-align: center;"><a onblur="try {parent.deselectBloggerImageGracefully();} catch(e) {}" href="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEhV12fQk5NWZye4bQcy60vx-gcm0vCVI6SQtoOyIQR-WI1mVFTu7C6g5qehETcR41pL1xrFOq-KjzCzrF0OXxJToX5YsjWq5Fpb5_DGms7y5OQ4xkqmyTfio1HytVhyphenhyphenQyLXMLcspQWULa2t/s1600-h/Cheerleaders+Backpacks+1+small.jpg"><img src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEhV12fQk5NWZye4bQcy60vx-gcm0vCVI6SQtoOyIQR-WI1mVFTu7C6g5qehETcR41pL1xrFOq-KjzCzrF0OXxJToX5YsjWq5Fpb5_DGms7y5OQ4xkqmyTfio1HytVhyphenhyphenQyLXMLcspQWULa2t/s320/Cheerleaders+Backpacks+1+small.jpg" border="0" alt="" id="BLOGGER_PHOTO_ID_5369290786809583970" style="cursor: pointer; width: 320px; height: 214px; " /></a><br /></div><div><br /></div><div>We also had a cheerleader come in to help out this week that was on our squad last year. We had a customer that had a cutting problem and she had been emailing us rather than calling in. She stated that she preferred email. When it was evident that her problem was beyond fixing via email, I suggested that she call into support so we could log into her computer and have a look. When she finally called in, you can imagine our surprise we when found out that she was hearing impaired. Operator assisted calls, though necessary, are very difficult to work with in a technical support situation. Just when we were about to give up hope on finding a way to fix it, I got the idea to use an instant messenger to talk to her. Low and behold she uses Yahoo Messenger and I was able to "talk" to her. Within an hour I had her Wishblade software fixed and she was up and ready to create. It felt so great to help her in the unique situation we were faced with. I LOVE MY JOB!<div><br /></div><div>I have been getting a lot of positive comments in person about my permanent tribute to my mom. I would really like to add a quote on the bottom saying something like "Fight like a Girl" but it would make it look tacky and it really looks good like it is. I need to go back in once more to get the teal brightened up a little more. </div><div><br /></div><div>My other tattoo is the one I have in honor of my two amazing princesses, Miranda and Morgan. I could come up with all kinds of excuses: forgot my blog account password, got sucked into the Facebook world, dog ate my homework. The truth is that there is no excuse. I didn't realize that anyone actually checked my blog until people commented that I hadn't posted anything new in awhile. Also, I haven't created anything worth posting either. Getting ready to created some very cool things for my cheerleaders this week. We are operating a fireworks stand and each day I am going to have a cute little gift for them. Is there no better summertime smells then that of fresh cut grass and exploded fireworks? I LOVE summer!<br /></div><div><br /></div><div>In the meantime, it was finally in bookstores! The July issue of CardMaker with my projects and the ad is on the back COVER! Feeling a little special here. I'm thinking about framing the copy that Xyron sent me. I also bought one for my dad to carry around and show his hot rod buddies at the the coffee shop. </div><div><br /></div><div style="text-align: center;"><a onblur="try {parent.deselectBloggerImageGracefully();} catch(e) {}" href="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEim_aM9HVZez00PpV3JOFay6N0I2WH5PlBRyuNhHWODuzOp2UKxwqQflTsKH111KtThqzSMl-I9rWVJ__hgAldG0DrrBgxY-uxtdQyxa-T0Dd61IgBKY0CZsKCtAVTzZQ11KSFKnN4CqhbC/s1600-h/2009_07+Cardmaker.jpg"><img src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEim_aM9HVZez00PpV3JOFay6N0I2WH5PlBRyuNhHWODuzOp2UKxwqQflTsKH111KtThqzSMl-I9rWVJ__hgAldG0DrrBgxY-uxtdQyxa-T0Dd61IgBKY0CZsKCtAVTzZQ11KSFKnN4CqhbC/s320/2009_07+Cardmaker.jpg" border="0" alt="" id="BLOGGER_PHOTO_ID_5352421447894257522" style="cursor: pointer; width: 217px; height: 294px; " /></a><br /></div><div style="text-align: center;"><br /></div><div style="text-align: left;">So I was informed that the instructions on how to make the projects was not on the website as the ad states and that could partially be my fault. I can make the projects but I am no instruction writer. I'm not a writer at all as you would tell from my posts. My Facebook friends LOVE my one sentence status updates that usually include bits of humor but I cannot write more than that. I will check with Xyron this week on those instructions and get my attempt to recreate the project to them for major editing before they can post to the web. =)</div><div style="text-align: left;"><br /></div><div style="text-align: left;">Stay tuned, I'll be posting some new things this week (or next week--I make no promises).</div>Unknownnoreply@blogger.com0tag:blogger.com,1999:blog-6536142335980507243.post-25265357785321238092009-03-18T12:01:00.004-05:002009-03-18T12:08:06.514-05:00Patting myself on the back...<div style="text-align: center;"><br /></div>My card box and cards will be in the Xyron ad for the July issue of CardMaker magazine. With Valenines day coming up, I have all these ideas scurrying around in my head and desperately needing the time to get them created. I absolutely loved this box idea from <a href="http://inkingidaho.blogspot.com/">Becky Roberts blog</a>. I stalk her blog religiously and she always has the neatest creations. You can customize the size of the compartments on the inside to fit whatever you choose to fill them with. Endless possibilities. I am giving this one to Morgan's teacher for Valenitne's Day.<br /></div><div><br /></div><div><br /></div><div><a onblur="try {parent.deselectBloggerImageGracefully();} catch(e) {}" href="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEgXTBo3rzVOlvgAHayxdyFvttxHASJfp88tz4uD4VbajjXwsZyPES89RlF-qsxSrAcE9NI59-5xf8M0FTpiDI0oa6ZvwLlCNgfDDQdUiEb0v9v_7T85DfOlt2f7cIbJ1TAYMRRRmftIolbL/s1600-h/Valentine+Box+1-small.jpg"><img src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEgXTBo3rzVOlvgAHayxdyFvttxHASJfp88tz4uD4VbajjXwsZyPES89RlF-qsxSrAcE9NI59-5xf8M0FTpiDI0oa6ZvwLlCNgfDDQdUiEb0v9v_7T85DfOlt2f7cIbJ1TAYMRRRmftIolbL/s320/Valentine+Box+1-small.jpg" border="0" alt="" id="BLOGGER_PHOTO_ID_5292716743279560290" style="display: block; margin-top: 0px; margin-right: auto; margin-bottom: 10px; margin-left: auto; text-align: center; cursor: pointer; width: 320px; height: 214px; " /></a></div><div><br /></div><div><a onblur="try {parent.deselectBloggerImageGracefully();} catch(e) {}" href="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEg5Utp5WAWqv04n2RTlO7-UX2qNMdzax6E7ZG6aCOGxq0-2UmsIbnMF70UqZI3NcLdgzlNMgRHsPANZLXdaq29rh0hv_WqmkGj8YtfoixQjplv3e24GWbORkiPUefgZHm5_8jkFTvXvlE4V/s1600-h/Valentine+Box+2-small.jpg" style="text-decoration: none;"><img src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEg5Utp5WAWqv04n2RTlO7-UX2qNMdzax6E7ZG6aCOGxq0-2UmsIbnMF70UqZI3NcLdgzlNMgRHsPANZLXdaq29rh0hv_WqmkGj8YtfoixQjplv3e24GWbORkiPUefgZHm5_8jkFTvXvlE4V/s320/Valentine+Box+2-small.jpg" border="0" alt="" id="BLOGGER_PHOTO_ID_5292716976154663410" style="text-decoration: underline;display: block; margin-top: 0px; margin-right: auto; margin-bottom: 10px; margin-left: auto; text-align: center; cursor: pointer; width: 320px; height: 214px; " /></a></div><div><br /></div><div>I used KI Memories paper that I had leftover from Valentine's Day projects last year and the glitter hearts were punched with Martha Stewart's new Valentine's punches. We have been incredibly swamped in Wishblade technical support. Many people received Wishblades for Christmas (YAY!) which has doubled the number of calls everyday. We discovered a bug in the print & cut feature in the new Create & Cut Plus Mac version and working with the software company for a patch and testing it. I am finally at a place to start posting more creations. Stay tuned...<div><br /></div><div>First I have to post this youtube video of this commercial that I absolutely love. This is all too close to home. Go back about 16 or 17 years and that guy would definitely be my dad. Even the name is right on. Dad, you will completely appreciate the humor in this! =)</div><br /><br /><object width="425" height="344"><param name="movie" value="http://www.youtube.com/v/muRMsfrbc10&hl=en&fs=1"><param name="allowFullScreen" value="true"><param name="allowscriptaccess" value="always"><embed src="http://www.youtube.com/v/muRMsfrbc10&hl=en&fs=1" type="application/x-shockwave-flash" allowscriptaccess="always" allowfullscreen="true" width="425" height="344"></embed></object>Unknownnoreply@blogger.com0tag:blogger.com,1999:blog-6536142335980507243.post-49001600734540859292008-12-22T14:15:00.008-06:002008-12-22T15:58:39.272-06:00More Homemade Christmas GiftsOnly three days left to get everything done and of course I am frantically multi-tasking. Her version is smaller so I had to resize everything to make mine a little bit bigger. I am going to fill one carton with homemade hot cocoa mix, one with mini marshmallows, one with some Hershey's kisses and the last with mini candy canes. Then I think I will take a chocolate dipped spoon and tie it on the with the bow for added goodness! =) Thanks, Becky, for this awesome idea.<br /><br /><img style="text-align: left;display: block; margin-top: 0px; margin-right: auto; margin-bottom: 10px; margin-left: auto; cursor: pointer; width: 320px; height: 214px; " src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEiB77jdsf8Vqr2OgqA2mLI5i8n03uo0_gqLkfTy-HUAnqMqgpxSP8DXBxXcn0tSol_jOz_tkY7qmrF7__uAXaq_8RV6rbpRFTO4lGsB5_0GsijBPtQDGxL2_ewk0l0N6vi2AZC2oeXMhKkP/s320/note+card+set+gretchen+small.jpg" border="0" alt="" id="BLOGGER_PHOTO_ID_5282729506248786850" /><div><div><br /></div><div><a onblur="try {parent.deselectBloggerImageGracefully();} catch(e) {}" href="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEhYCvGTVkd6yiJoFC4kbYJ2Xe9GGm8GbmNIifrww3u4NLKl22NmLRteRY1cDcjVn803n0jVBssG3WJLHfqSIiB_U7o2eCB4nrAE-vtV4nwGrEy5NvZEQVjmUwHiG2SlxwWnJuu3zWL66a2u/s1600-h/Gretchen's+note+card+small.jpg"><img src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEhYCvGTVkd6yiJoFC4kbYJ2Xe9GGm8GbmNIifrww3u4NLKl22NmLRteRY1cDcjVn803n0jVBssG3WJLHfqSIiB_U7o2eCB4nrAE-vtV4nwGrEy5NvZEQVjmUwHiG2SlxwWnJuu3zWL66a2u/s320/Gretchen's+note+card+small.jpg" border="0" alt="" id="BLOGGER_PHOTO_ID_5282736662550245522" style="display: block; margin-top: 0px; margin-right: auto; margin-bottom: 10px; margin-left: auto; text-align: center; cursor: pointer; width: 320px; height: 214px; " /></a></div><div><br />Stampin Up sells this Sizzix die that I absolutely fell in love with called the Top Notch Die. It is exclusive to Stampin Up and it is to use with the Big Shot die cutting system. I seriously did not want to buy a Big Shot just to get that one die especially since I am a Wishblade technician so I imported the jpeg of the die into Create & Cut and redrew it. Now I have it as a Create & Cut file. The best thing of all is that unlike the Sizzix die, I can resize this file to any size I wish. I really love this shape! This is a note card set that I made for a gift using that shape as the polka dot background. I used the Wishblade for every piece of this card. I saved money by not having to buy an oval punch or a scalloped oval punch. YAY! The box was a tutorial from the Splitcoast Stampers site---love that place! Again, this gift is 100% homemade. Not too shabby. (and saving money, dad!)<div style="text-align: center;"><br /></div><div><img src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEhI6ymhIz6Uf4ub9Yg93mF4hCARuKNVRPZOzWhmgM2xhMSzlsyTY9_Ma6npO7fYV-KO2UNcS02vO6CQex_bOCApvljx1PWdp5V6EtUmlbPv7NfsuAUedH9KAwgZUycYNxAUtH0qKDpUqzHh/s320/Jerky+bag+small.jpg" border="0" alt="" id="BLOGGER_PHOTO_ID_5282731837183395442" style="display: block; margin-top: 0px; margin-right: auto; margin-bottom: 10px; margin-left: auto; text-align: center; cursor: pointer; width: 214px; height: 320px; " /><br /></div><div><a onblur="try {parent.deselectBloggerImageGracefully();} catch(e) {}" href="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEiCI8aHXxacxd9LjnY_FzwfP-nGNF2Owhs51sIiTE8jhW_GYh7iIJjo0RxIB2ddY0Oyu5_GBRWuGg_8dkjjUs2tOuSRI8NJeVwYiARnRN5x2SZhyphenhyphenKdo9fUVZuh6r6KvQmwtdVkWRkLtrPt_/s1600-h/Jerky+Tag+small.jpg"><img src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEiCI8aHXxacxd9LjnY_FzwfP-nGNF2Owhs51sIiTE8jhW_GYh7iIJjo0RxIB2ddY0Oyu5_GBRWuGg_8dkjjUs2tOuSRI8NJeVwYiARnRN5x2SZhyphenhyphenKdo9fUVZuh6r6KvQmwtdVkWRkLtrPt_/s320/Jerky+Tag+small.jpg" border="0" alt="" id="BLOGGER_PHOTO_ID_5282732210681447058" style="display: block; margin-top: 0px; margin-right: auto; margin-bottom: 10px; margin-left: auto; text-align: center; cursor: pointer; width: 320px; height: 214px; " /></a><br />I love to make beef jerky this time of year to give out to friends and neighbors. Everyone loves beef jerky and it is pretty tasty, I might add. I quickly stamped a few images and colored them with my new Copic Markers to make a a top to the ziploc bag so it is not so plain. These are clear acrylic Doodlebug stamps and I used liquid applique on Santa's hat and beard. It always makes me think of my mom. My mother was the biggest Kenny Rogers fan and her Christmas music consisted of a lot of Kenny Rogers and Dolly Parton. I find myself listening to that same music at Christmas today. Of course, I had to find the music on CD's because mom's old cassette tapes weren't up to my modern technology. Google the song and listen to it. It has a snappy tune but pay close attention to the lyrics. I have always enjoyed it but it means so much more to me this year than it has in the past. With so many people losing their jobs and the country falling deeper into a recession, the message strikes all too close to home.<br /><br />I miss you, mom. I owe my creative side all to you!<br /><br /><a onblur="try {parent.deselectBloggerImageGracefully();} catch(e) {}" href="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEhlHkX9eSjipp-uSKOgNtW1vNtmInxaHsP75xklKzMmzl-eA19Cz86NrrgSeP2nsGN7US8IPnV4IwNQqxNS9OWVOvLiOLzr3tU_8KgP2Vcnf9ZB4IkjfP2O5mNK2FhefJ4xv4GOJsF-TH6O/s1600-h/Mrs.+Whitsitt%27s+present-small.jpg"><img style="display:block; margin:0px auto 10px; text-align:center;cursor:pointer; cursor:hand;width: 320px; height: 214px;" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEhlHkX9eSjipp-uSKOgNtW1vNtmInxaHsP75xklKzMmzl-eA19Cz86NrrgSeP2nsGN7US8IPnV4IwNQqxNS9OWVOvLiOLzr3tU_8KgP2Vcnf9ZB4IkjfP2O5mNK2FhefJ4xv4GOJsF-TH6O/s320/Mrs.+Whitsitt%27s+present-small.jpg" border="0" alt=""id="BLOGGER_PHOTO_ID_5280823171904393618" /></a><br /><br />In the spirit of Kenny's homemade Christmas, we hand made the teacher's entire present this year right down to the Bazzill Basics Paper bow! Everything about this gift is now homemade with the exception of the two pieces of tissue paper. I think it's great and even though it's homemade, it's still a nice gift.<br /><br /><a onblur="try {parent.deselectBloggerImageGracefully();} catch(e) {}" href="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEhkjeSipHjT0WqQhYjhJuXAPOVpmGdXU1sJM3IwPRFAHcOTvs3wdyUqGkZxT25bgrEFLwhxYYMoEskFanW6o2ZsyRVAf-UyEtXqoyE5auUhaIeDn2hPjFxBID-rgxnRQKc8_KRGmlz7ejNy/s1600-h/Mrs.+Whitsitt%27s+Bow-small.jpg"><img style="display:block; margin:0px auto 10px; text-align:center;cursor:pointer; cursor:hand;width: 320px; height: 214px;" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEhkjeSipHjT0WqQhYjhJuXAPOVpmGdXU1sJM3IwPRFAHcOTvs3wdyUqGkZxT25bgrEFLwhxYYMoEskFanW6o2ZsyRVAf-UyEtXqoyE5auUhaIeDn2hPjFxBID-rgxnRQKc8_KRGmlz7ejNy/s320/Mrs.+Whitsitt%27s+Bow-small.jpg" border="0" alt=""id="BLOGGER_PHOTO_ID_5280824026806832130" /></a><br /><a onblur="try {parent.deselectBloggerImageGracefully();} catch(e) {}" href="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEh6nEcH4svYIVR4vc6SIMoexQJ5RLbrdp3cPjUhzWfRGkmfb3VQlnMPnTvRhb6xm-JvTpJZw7xiwZd-7od49RFB7uxES6RBJzooXE5a7DzpNHayBi0l-WvGeJ0buJ0bHCymA4CRySVZJBfV/s1600-h/Mrs.+Whitsitt%27s+Tag-small.jpg"><img style="display:block; margin:0px auto 10px; text-align:center;cursor:pointer; cursor:hand;width: 214px; height: 320px;" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEh6nEcH4svYIVR4vc6SIMoexQJ5RLbrdp3cPjUhzWfRGkmfb3VQlnMPnTvRhb6xm-JvTpJZw7xiwZd-7od49RFB7uxES6RBJzooXE5a7DzpNHayBi0l-WvGeJ0buJ0bHCymA4CRySVZJBfV/s320/Mrs.+Whitsitt%27s+Tag-small.jpg" border="0" alt=""id="BLOGGER_PHOTO_ID_5280825507092750914" /></a><br /><br />By the way, I used my new Copic markers on the tag and everyone is correct....I FREAKING LOVE THEM! In all my defense, though, I couldn't have picked a worse time of the year to start doing this. We have spent the last week or so making goodies, as we do every year. We live in a neighborhood that consists of mostly retired folks (except for the new young single man next door-haven't met him yet) and I love to take them homemade goodies at Christmastime. Sugar cookies are a favorite for the girls because I let them do it all and then I get to clean up the mess. </div><div><br /></div><a onblur="try {parent.deselectBloggerImageGracefully();} catch(e) {}" href="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEhCUR_9jx0cCHI6EcMtOv8hEmWmeKFyvhd7cy6zzg5MP5eGbFyKuAmFP2Yxiv-_91sSf7z24Vv5bycwcBgy2qjNXlvr-fSd3Mknt7IWVOJGfa1MubANu9zanDg_6TUUFrCB367rKv_ylS1w/s1600-h/Decorating+Cookies-small.jpg"><img style="display:block; margin:0px auto 10px; text-align:center;cursor:pointer; cursor:hand;width: 320px; height: 214px;" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEhCUR_9jx0cCHI6EcMtOv8hEmWmeKFyvhd7cy6zzg5MP5eGbFyKuAmFP2Yxiv-_91sSf7z24Vv5bycwcBgy2qjNXlvr-fSd3Mknt7IWVOJGfa1MubANu9zanDg_6TUUFrCB367rKv_ylS1w/s320/Decorating+Cookies-small.jpg" border="0" alt="" id="BLOGGER_PHOTO_ID_5280794299062014978" /></a><br />The funny thing about our Christmas cookies is that the girls do not stick to the Christmas theme of red and green sprinkles and "jimmies". She's in the fifth grade and she has several teachers. When I was in the fifth grade I had my classroom teacher, music teacher and PE teacher. She has those three plus a computer lab teacher, title 1 reading teacher, math teacher and probably a para or two that I am forgetting about. Are kids just more misbehaved these days that there needs to be that many people watching over them or is this turning out more educated children? I have yet to figure that out. I guess it is a good thing because they all seem to love the kids and that's what's important. I came up with these card books thinking I was going to use up a lot of paper that I have but in reality, it really only used up three pieces of cards tock and three pieces of coordinating patterned paper. Needless to say, I did not make a dent or even a dimple in my enormous stash of patterned paper. I used the Wishblade and created the A2 sized envelope to cut out. Most of the rest was done by hand. It is a variety of cards such as Happy Birthday, Get Well Soon, Thinking of You, Congrats and a few blank ones for a total of eight cards. Off to mass produce these for the army of educators!<div><br /></div><div>Keep Smiling! =)</div>Unknownnoreply@blogger.com1tag:blogger.com,1999:blog-6536142335980507243.post-53446261674494002662008-12-06T21:38:00.004-06:002008-12-08T21:26:00.248-06:00Christmas Photo Time!<a onblur="try {parent.deselectBloggerImageGracefully();} catch(e) {}" href="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEgeVxKwRY1BaPyCqta6o-lcYYRz1c_wUNaFp24aHkqzTngl0nBrP2HeIFe6zgkMWSFekMFg5NrUfQPpHFuKZuclB3BVwot5BaPyiFkYW5_SOWvXxHa3kV0_ffH3odbYFDwm-JEfILjGrp9h/s1600-h/IMG_2945-3+small.jpg"><img style="display:block; margin:0px auto 10px; text-align:center;cursor:pointer; cursor:hand;width: 214px; height: 320px;" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEgeVxKwRY1BaPyCqta6o-lcYYRz1c_wUNaFp24aHkqzTngl0nBrP2HeIFe6zgkMWSFekMFg5NrUfQPpHFuKZuclB3BVwot5BaPyiFkYW5_SOWvXxHa3kV0_ffH3odbYFDwm-JEfILjGrp9h/s320/IMG_2945-3+small.jpg" border="0" alt="" id="BLOGGER_PHOTO_ID_5276888225966425570" /></a><div><br />I spent the better part of today catching up on missed sleep from this week.
